ABC 4.2.8 G Guest, Garden, Game

OK, Here it is, ABC Wednesday time again. This is the day to join in the ABC Wednesday Challenge, and share a little bit of our world with friends all over the world, and learn about them as well, one letter at a time. You can participate too, in either the sharing, or the learning, or both, by visiting ABC Wednesday,Where this week, the letter is:

I was flattered recently, when I got an invitation from Alea at Premeditated Leftovers, to write a GUEST post for her blog.

Alea has a blog dedicated largely to economic and judicious GROCERY use, and this week she included a post I wrote about how to start an herb GARDEN.

You can read my post here.

And speaking of GARDENS, is anyone but me going crazy, wishing that winter would hurry and get over so we can get started on the GARDENS? I have been GOING to some GARDENING classes once a week with my father in law, and those classes, along with the seeds I have been getting in the mail, have me itching to GET GOING on the GARDEN.

Our friend Linda sent me some seeds last year too, and with the flooding in our garden early in the summer and then my little leg/hospital incident later in the year, I didn't get to plant them, but there are some really fun new herbs that I am itching to try as well, so I will keep everyone posted on those.

And finally, of course, no post about G would be complete without mentioning the GAME this week.

I don't go to a lot of sporting events. GAS prices, among other things, along with tickets and all the other expenses that go along with it, are a big discouraging factor.

Not being a superfan of any team, I seldom even watch a full game on TV, unless one of our local teams makes the playoffs.

But Every year, when the Utah Jazz play the Detroit Pistons, here in Michigan, a bunch of us old Utah guys go to the game. We buy a block of tickets, usually somewhere between the nosebleed section and the altitude sickness section and go have a good time.

Last year the Jazz soundly trounced the Pistons. This year, it started slow but turned into a pretty exciting game right up to the buzzer. That's the best kind.

Having Utah roots and Michigan branches allowed me to cheer for both teams, and it made it even more fun.

Next year Bingo will be old enough to go with me. I can hardly wait.

And on one final G note. Diann at The Thrifty GROOVE, is doing a fun GIVEAWAY. Those in the Continental United States who want to win a kit to make their own GUMMIES (or other candies) can read all about it and enter

Good Luck!

  1. I always get nervous writing a guest post; want to meet the standards of the regular columnist.

  3. Great G post - my garden is mostly a figment of my imagination. It would be grand to have a real one.
