Ya'll know me. I'm never one to take anything at face value. I'm a skeptic and a bit of a cynic at heart, and I always want to know "The Rest Of The Story", so, when Classy Chassy at Expressly Corgi invited me to participate in the Better Basket Blog Hop, to benefit the Childrens Miracle Network the first thing I did was check out the URL of the site.
Now don't get me wrong, I like to do things to help, but I guess I saw the old, "send a card to a kid in the hospital and make all his dreams come true, and if you do, Bill Gates will give a million dollars to everyone who forwards this email and switches to Geico" thing one too many times and so I started taking everything with a grain of salt.
So, I checked with the fine folks at Hershey's and they verified that it is real.
It is genuine, and they are actually giving ten dollars to the Childrens Miracle Network for each blog that participates, up to a total of $5,000. This is joint project between Hershey's, WalMart and Childrens Miracle Network.
Well, once I knew that, how could I NOT participate?
So, first I want to thank Classy Chassy for inviting me to the hop, and next I'll tell you how it works:
~Copy and paste these rules to your blog post
~Create a blog post giving a virtual Easter Basket to another blogger – you can give as many Virtual Baskets as you want.
~Link back to person who gave you an Easter Basket.
~Let each person you are giving a Virtual Easter Basket know you have given them a Basket.
~Leave your link at BetterBasket.info/BlogHop comment section. You can also find the official rules of this at betterbasket blog hop, and more information about Better Basket with Hershey’s there.
~Hershey’s is donating $10 per each blog participating to the Better Basket Blog Hop to Children’s Miracle Network (up to total of $5,000 by blog posts written by April 4, 2010).
~Please note that only one blog post by each blog url will count towards the donation.
This is now the part where I get to invite others to participate.
I hate leaving anyone out, so I just want to give a virtual basket to everyone who reads this, and invite everyone to participate. Would you be willing to take a minute and write a post to help The Childrens Miracle Network?
Simply create a blog post with the specific rules described here. Link back to this blog. And leave the link to your post in the comment section at Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop.
It's that easy!
And if you leave me a comment letting me know you are participating, I'll be sure to stop by and see for myself.
Now, here is the extra fun part.
In my
I decided that a company that gives money to an organization that helps children, is about as good as it gets. Heck, I already posted about St Jude Children's Research Hospital this week, and I have another fun St Jude post coming up in just a few days, so I almost have a theme for the week.
With that in mind, I am joining:
Make sure and stop by her site to see the good that others see in the world.
Be sure and join me each Tuesday for Tuesday Trivia Tie-in, where readers are invited to share trivia and show off their treasures.
If I can figure it all out I would love to join you! I am going to put my green house together once the weather clears. We are expecting a new storm tomorrow. Snow, it is still everywhere and more is on the way!
ReplyDeleteThe Easter Basket Hop sounds great! I will give it a try!
Thank you Troy!
I love it Troy that you checked on it like I did too! It is a wonderful thing that Hershey's is doing to help Children's Miracle Network. Thanks for joining in!
ReplyDeleteWell, now aren't you a sweetheart! Thank you for helping me spread an "optimism virus" with Only The Good. I'm looking forward to reading more of what you have to say. I appreciate the link!
ReplyDeleteThe OTGF post is up, so be sure to add your name and URL to Mr. Linky :-) See you soon!
I checked out the website before I sent it on tags to join in - there are so many scams out there - and many just want your email address to sell - those make me angry!!! Glad you joined in! Nice to participate in something GOOD, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHershey's is doing a good thing, but if you buy a bag of their white chocolate "Bliss" candies, give them to someone you think needs help with their poundage. Those things are lethal. As in, "I can't believe I ate the whole bag at one sitting when a serving portion is three squares".
ReplyDeleteYou have been warned. :-)
