Troy's Tuesday Tie Trivia # 3 -

Welcome to Troy’s Tuesday Tie Trivia. This feature was inspired by an incredible deal I got on ties at a local indoor flea market.

You can read all about it here.

Because today is Groundhog Day, I originally wanted to do a Groundhog Day themed post, but the closest I could come to a Groundhog tie was a Mickey Mouse tie, and although when it comes to rodents one is the same as another, I thought it was still a pretty big stretch.

So, before we look at a tie, I just want to wish everyone a:

I had all sorts of groundhog trivia all ready too, so I guess I need to find a groundhog tie before next February.

Speaking of February, I do have a couple of different Valentines Day ties, including one of the new ties I just got:

Although it doesn't list an artist, this tie was created by Creative Apparel Group Ltd.

And now for a little bit of Valentines Day Trivia:

About 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are exchanged each year. That's the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas.

Consumers will spend an average of $77.43 on Valentine's Day gifts this year.

E-commerce retailers expect to rack up about $650 million in sales of food, candy, flowers, and other Valentine's Day gifts.

Of that amount about $350 million will be for gifts and flowers and another $45 million will be spent on food (including chocolate) and wine.

More than 35 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate will be sold for Valentine's Day.

And finally:

In the United States, 64 percent of men do not make plans in advance for a romantic Valentine's Day with their sweethearts.

So, do you have plans yet? What are you going to do?

Being a man, I will probably make some kind of plan on February 13th, then rush out and try to make it happen.

I'm open to suggestions.

I will be linking with these blog parties this week:

  2. Maybe we should forego Valentine's and spend the money more wisely. I sure don't need a special give on a certain date to know i am loved. Interesting post and I love the ties. I need to get my son one to wear to Tuesday Mass. :)

  10. Valentine's Day is my youngest son's favorite holiday, so I have been making lots of Valentine's cards that will have clues leading him to a special gift. Of course, every meal for the kids will have something heart shaped. I will probably bribe the teenagers to babysit for me so I can take my husband, who will have not made any plans, out to dinner.

I have given you a blog award: http://premeditatedleftovers.blogspot.com/2010/02/blog-award.html
